Root-vegetable challenge update

Tomorrow’s the last day for the root-vegetable challenge (but if you send me photos or results a little late, I won’t mind).

Here’s my collection of ingredients before the cooking actually starts.

Come on, you can do this!

  1. Just seeing those there raw is making me hungry! I can’t wait to see what you make from that. 🙂

    Two questions:
    1. Can you give me the link to the original guidelines.
    2. What if your a “pinch of this, splash of that” cook. My rutabaga recipe has ziltch measured.

Neighbor Nancy, welcome! The original guidelines are here. Please join the (few) rest of us! “Pinch of this, splash of that” works fine for me!! You might even win a prize for originality!

    Great. Thanks.
I won’t pretend I could win a prize, I can at least make a difficult rutabaga … well… better than tolerable.

N.N. — I have no clue how to cook a rutabaga, so your expertise will be welcome. Haven’t ever eaten one either!

Sigh… I’m passing up the challenge this time. Creativity has not been my strong suit in recent weeks. I’m more in survival mode.

My maple sap is finally flowing like mad. Hurray! Between that, getting my soft fruit order in and grinding out the Loooongest informative post I ever wrote, I am shot.

I will eventually ship the rutabaga recipe. It is such an inexpensive veggie, that it seems a shame to leave there in the store, unloved.

Yes, I’m now so tired that I’ve gone loopy.
